The Samurais always believed in the beauty of nature and in the tools and weapons they used. A samurai would always carry a Katana with him and would also often carry a Wakizashi. The Wakizashi was a shorter version of the Katana and when the samurais wore it together, the pair was called daishō, which literally means 'big-little'. The Wakizashi was usually used as a backup weapon and many a times used for fighting in close quarters or to behead an opponent who he just defeated . Later, when the Tokugawa era ended, the daisho became more of a symbol of power and was not used as a weapon of daily use. So why not have this amazing, historical piece as part of your martial arts collection.
